Sarah is the founder and head flower farmer at Vera Flora Farm which she established in 2012 after years of working on vegetable farms in the region. In her over 16 years growing and arranging she has provided flowers for hundreds of weddings in New Hampshire, Vermont and beyond. She is a self taught floral designer and takes her inspiration from the four distinct seasons in New England where she was born, raised and built her farm and forever home. Sarah's focus has always been on using local and seasonal plants from her gardens and the forests and fields beyond.
Sarah's favorite flower, if forced to choose, is a peony. |
Katie has been playing with flowers ever since her mother plopped her in the garden while weeding. As a professional gardener she has honed her knowledge of plants and earth. Katie was deeply inspired by a lecture and demonstration by Emily Thompson at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 2014 and since then has developed a keen eye for unusual botanical elements and foraged goods. She has practiced her craft quietly, occasionally designing for a wedding, party, or memorial service, and is excited to bring her enthusiasm and knowledge to professional floral work.
Katie’s favorite flower is butterfly ranunculus. |
